Overview
Four days is exactly the right amount of time to fall completely in love with Zanzibar — and this package is designed to make every hour count. Whether you’re arriving from Dar es Salaam on a short escape, connecting from a Tanzanian safari, or flying in from Europe for a beach honeymoon, the Zanzibar 4 Days 3 Nights Package gives you an authentic, unhurried taste of the island without leaving anything important out.
Over four days, you’ll walk the labyrinthine alleyways of UNESCO-listed Stone Town, breathe in cloves and cinnamon on a working spice farm, hand-feed century-old giant tortoises on Prison Island, snorkel the coral gardens of Mnemba Atoll — one of East Africa’s premier marine sites — swim alongside rescued green sea turtles in Nungwi, and finally exhale on the powdery white sands of Kendwa Beach.
Blue Green Zanzibar Tours handles every detail: private airport pick-up, all guided activities, entrance fees, and on-the-ground support. You bring the curiosity; we take care of the rest.

Your 4-Day Zanzibar Itinerary
Every day is thoughtfully paced — active enough to cover the island's best, relaxed enough to actually enjoy it.
Day 1 — Arrival
Welcome to Paradise
Your Zanzibar journey begins the moment you land. A Blue Green Zanzibar Tours representative will be waiting at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport holding your name sign — no taxi queues, no uncertainty. Your private vehicle will whisk you along the coast road to your hotel, the turquoise Indian Ocean flickering through the palm trees as you drive.
Day 1 is intentionally free. Check in, drop your bags, and let the island slow your pace. Take a dip in the hotel pool, stroll the beach at sunset, or ask your guide to point you toward the nearest rooftop for a first look at the horizon.
💡 Insider Tip
If you arrive before noon, take a walk around the harbour area near Stone Town for a self-guided first impression — the narrow streets and carved doorways are especially beautiful in afternoon light.
Day 2 — Culture & History
Stone Town, Spice Farm & Prison Island
This is Zanzibar's cultural heart — a day that moves from the island's complex trading past to its scented farms to its wildlife-dotted offshore islands.
Stop 1: Stone Town Walking Tour
Stone Town is one of the few surviving Swahili coastal trading towns in East Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. Walking its lanes with a local guide reveals layers invisible to the solo visitor: the carved teak doorways that signal an Arab or Indian merchant's wealth, the somber Old Slave Market where tens of thousands of enslaved people passed through before abolition in 1873, and the iconic House of Wonders. You'll also visit Forodhani Gardens — a perfect afternoon setting before the boat trip.
Stop 2: Spice Farm Tour
Zanzibar earned the name "Spice Island" for good reason — it was once the world's largest producer of cloves, and the island's spice trade shaped history from the 17th century onwards. At the farm your guide peels bark to reveal cinnamon's true source, splits open a vanilla pod to show the tiny seeds inside, and lets you cup your hands around freshly-harvested cloves. Lunch is served on the farm — rice spiced with the very flavours you've just discovered, alongside fresh mango, pineapple, and jackfruit.
Stop 3: Prison Island (Changuu Island)
A short dhow ride brings you to Changuu Island, once a quarantine station and briefly a proposed prison (never actually used as one). Today it's famous for its Aldabra giant tortoises — the oldest are believed to be over 100 years old. Feeding them from your hand is one of those experiences that stays lodged somewhere permanent in your memory. The island also has a small beach for a swim before the return boat.
💡 Insider Tip
Prison Island's bay is sheltered and calm — bring a towel and use the 20 minutes before your return boat to cool off. The water is warm and clear even in the low season.
Day 3 — Ocean & Beaches
Mnemba Atoll, Turtles & Kendwa Beach
Day 3 is about the water — all of it. You'll start offshore in Zanzibar's most celebrated marine zone, move to a turtle conservation lagoon, and end on a beach that genuinely earns the word "paradise."
Stop 1: Mnemba Atoll Snorkeling & Dolphins
Mnemba Atoll is a protected marine conservation area off Zanzibar's northeast coast and widely considered one of East Africa's best snorkeling sites. Visibility here is extraordinary — often 20–30 metres — and the reef is alive with parrotfish, angelfish, moray eels, and hawksbill turtles moving lazily through staghorn coral. Bottlenose and Indo-Pacific spinner dolphins are frequently spotted on the approach; in calm conditions you may swim alongside them.
Stop 2: Swimming with Turtles at Baraka Aquarium
Baraka Natural Aquarium in Nungwi is a tidal pool conservation sanctuary where injured or stranded green sea turtles are rehabilitated before release. The lagoon connects directly to the open ocean — these are wild animals living in natural seawater, not a glass tank. Wading in among them, watching a turtle the size of a coffee table drift effortlessly beneath your feet, is genuinely humbling. Guides explain each turtle's individual conservation story.
Stop 3: Kendwa Beach
Kendwa is the northern beach that Zanzibar regulars keep to themselves. Unlike Nungwi Beach a few kilometres away, Kendwa's beach doesn't dry out at low tide — the water stays swimmable all day. The sand is powdery white, the water a transparent pale turquoise. Enjoy a beachside lunch, swim in the Indian Ocean, or try jet skiing, parasailing, or paddleboarding.
💡 Insider Tip
Book the Mnemba trip for morning when the sea is calmest and visibility peaks. Afternoon swells can reduce snorkeling quality significantly, especially between March and May.
Day 4 — Departure
Farewell to Zanzibar
Your last morning belongs to you — a long breakfast, a final swim, last-minute shopping for clove oil and hand-woven baskets. Your private transfer picks you up based on your exact flight time, so there's no rushed early alarm. The drive to the airport takes you back along the same coastal road you arrived on three days ago, but it looks different now. You've earned that view.
Need more time? We can extend this package with additional nights, a wildlife safari from Zanzibar to Selous or Mikumi, or a remote beach day on Nakupenda Sandbank. Just mention it when you inquire.

When Is the Best Time to Book This Package?
Zanzibar is a year-round destination, but the season you choose changes everything — ocean conditions, crowds, and prices all shift throughout the year.
Peak Season
June – October
Dry, warm, and sunny with calm seas — ideal for Mnemba Atoll. Best snorkeling visibility of the year. Book early as accommodation fills fast. Prices at their highest.
Sweet Spot
Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb
Hot and mostly dry. Short rains in November are usually brief afternoon showers — tours run normally. Excellent value. December and January attract Christmas/New Year travellers so book ahead.
Low Season
March – May
Long rains (Masika) bring heavier downpours, rougher seas, and reduced Mnemba visibility. Still fully operational — best hotel rates of the year. Great for budget travellers who don't mind occasional rain.
Where Should I Stay? Hotel Recommendations by Budget
Accommodation is not included in the package, but we know the island well. Here's a guide to the types of hotels that pair well with this itinerary.
| Budget Tier | Typical Rate/Night | Best Locations | What to Expect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Budget | $40 – $80 | Stone Town, Kendwa, Paje | Fan rooms, shared spaces, basic breakfast. Clean and safe — ideal if you'll spend most of the day on tours. |
| Mid-Range | $80 – $180 | Nungwi, Kendwa, Matemwe | AC rooms, pool, beach access, breakfast included. Best value sweet spot for most travellers. |
| Luxury | $180 – $500+ | Nungwi, Kendwa, Kiwengwa | Beachfront villas, spa, half-board or all-inclusive options. Ideal for honeymooners and special occasions. |
When you inquire about the package, just mention your accommodation budget and we'll point you to specific properties we work with regularly — places we can personally vouch for.

Everything you need to know before booking your Zanzibar 4-day package.
Yes — 4 days is enough to experience the best of Zanzibar's culture, marine life, and beaches without rushing. You'll cover Stone Town (UNESCO World Heritage Site), a working spice farm, Prison Island's giant tortoises, Mnemba Atoll snorkeling, turtle swimming at Baraka Aquarium, and Kendwa Beach. For a deeper exploration — including Jozani Forest, Safari Blue, and more beach time — 6 to 7 days is ideal.
Included: private airport transfers, professional English-speaking guide, all guided tours, all entrance fees (Stone Town, Prison Island, Mnemba Atoll, Baraka Aquarium), snorkeling equipment, lunch on Days 2 and 3, fresh fruits and water on boats, 24/7 WhatsApp support, and all government taxes. Not included: hotel accommodation, flights, Tanzania visa, travel insurance, and personal expenses.
Prices are per group (not per person): $475 for 1 person, $600 for 2 persons, $725 for 3 persons, $855 for 4 persons, and $980 for 5 persons. Groups of 6 or more receive a custom quote with group discounts. All prices cover tours, entrance fees, and transfers — hotel accommodation is separate.
Most international visitors to Tanzania (which includes Zanzibar) require a tourist visa. Apply online at immigration.go.tz or obtain one on arrival. EAC citizens (Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, DRC) typically enter visa-free. Always check the latest requirements for your nationality before travel.
Yes — fully. You can swap activities, extend to 5–7 days, add a Tanzania safari (Selous or Mikumi), upgrade to honeymoon experiences, or adjust timings for your flights. Mention your preferences when inquiring and we'll prepare a tailored quote the same day.
June to October is peak dry season — calm seas, excellent Mnemba visibility, and consistent sunshine. November–February is also excellent and less crowded. March to May is the long rainy season (Masika) — tours still operate but seas are rougher and prices are significantly lower.
Yes — life vests are provided and non-swimmers can float at the surface. The boat remains nearby throughout. Basic swimming ability significantly improves the experience, as the best coral and marine life are just below the surface.
Pack: light breathable clothing (modest attire for Stone Town — covered shoulders and knees for markets and mosques), swimwear, reef-safe sunscreen, a rash guard for snorkeling, sandals plus one pair of closed-toe shoes, a light rain jacket (especially March–May), cash in USD for personal spending, and your travel documents.
This is a fully private tour. Your group travels alone with its own vehicle and guide — never combined with other travellers. This allows complete flexibility on timing and pace throughout the four days.
Zanzibar (Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, ZNZ) is served by direct flights from Nairobi, Dar es Salaam (20–25 minutes, multiple daily), Addis Ababa, and several European cities in high season. A fast ferry from Dar es Salaam also takes approximately 2 hours.
Ready to Plan Your Zanzibar Holiday?

- Book your accommodation first — Nungwi and Kendwa hotels sell out fast in high season (June–October)
- Apply for your Tanzania e-visa in advance at immigration.go.tz
- The best Mnemba Atoll snorkeling happens in the morning — tell us your hotel and we'll time the pickup accordingly
