Overview
The Zanzibar 3 Days 2 Nights Package is the most popular short-break itinerary on the island — and for good reason. In just three days, you’ll walk the centuries-old streets of Stone Town (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), smell and taste Zanzibar’s famous spices on a guided Spice Farm tour, and come face-to-face with giant Aldabra tortoises on Prison Island (Changuu Island) — some of them well over 100 years old. Transfers, entrance fees, a professional guide, and lunch are all included, so you can focus entirely on the experience.
Whether you’re squeezing Zanzibar into a longer Tanzania safari, spending a long weekend away, or simply curious what the island is really about, this package is built to give you the best of Zanzibar without the overwhelm. Blue Green Zanzibar Tours has been running this itinerary with consistently 5-star results — rated top on TripAdvisor and Trustindex by guests from across Europe, the Gulf, and the Americas.

Is 3 Days Enough for Zanzibar — Or Should You Stay Longer?
Three days covers Zanzibar's cultural and historical highlights beautifully. What you won't have time for is extended beach days, water sports, or the east coast. Use this comparison to decide:
| Feature | 3 Days / 2 Nights | 4 Days / 3 Nights | 7 Days / 6 Nights |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stone Town Tour | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Spice Farm Tour | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Prison Island | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |

Our honest verdict: If this is your first time and you have limited days, 3 nights works well. If you can stretch to 4–5 nights, you'll leave feeling you genuinely experienced the island rather than just passed through. See our 4 Days 3 Nights Package for the natural next step up.

FAQ About the Zanzibar 3 Days 2 Nights Package
Is 3 days in Zanzibar enough to see the main highlights?
Yes — three days is enough to cover Zanzibar’s cultural and historical highlights comfortably. You’ll experience Stone Town (UNESCO World Heritage Site), a working Spice Farm, and Prison Island (Changuu Island) with the giant Aldabra tortoises. What you won’t have time for in 3 days is extended beach time, water sports, or visiting the east coast (Paje, Jambiani). If beaches are a priority, consider extending to our 4 Days 3 Nights Package.
Does the package price include accommodation?
No — the package price covers guided tours, transfers, lunch, entrance fees, and a professional guide. Accommodation is not included, which keeps the package flexible for guests who have already booked a hotel or who want to choose their own. We’re happy to recommend hotels at every price point — just ask when you book.
Can I customize the package — add or remove activities?
Absolutely. All Blue Green Zanzibar packages are customizable. You can add dolphin swimming, a sunset dhow cruise, Mnemba Atoll snorkeling, Jozani Forest, or a mainland safari. You can also extend to 4, 5, or 7 nights. Mention your preferences in the booking form or message us on WhatsApp and we’ll tailor the itinerary for you.
What is the best time of year to do this 3-day Zanzibar trip?
The best time is June to October — Zanzibar’s dry season. Skies are clear, seas are calm for the Prison Island boat crossing, and tour conditions are reliable. December through February is also good. March to May brings the long rains (masika) — tours still run but weather is less predictable. See our Zanzibar travel guides for month-by-month breakdowns.
How do I get from Zanzibar Airport to my hotel?
Your package includes a private airport transfer on both arrival and departure. Your driver will be waiting at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) with a name board. The transfer time ranges from 20 minutes (to Stone Town hotels) to about 60 minutes (to Nungwi or Kendwa on the northern tip). If your flight is delayed, our team monitors arrival times and adjusts accordingly.
What should I pack for a 3-day Zanzibar trip?
Light, breathable clothing is essential — Zanzibar is warm year-round (24–32°C). Bring reef-safe sunscreen for the Prison Island boat trip and any beach time, comfortable walking shoes for Stone Town’s cobbled streets, a light scarf or shawl for entering religious sites, insect repellent for evenings, and a small daypack for Day 2. A swimsuit is worth packing even on the 3-day package — Prison Island has a sandy beach and you may want to wade in.
Is this package suitable for families with children?
Yes — this package is very family-friendly. Children particularly love Prison Island and the giant tortoises. The Stone Town walking tour is engaging for older kids (8+). The Spice Farm is interactive and hands-on. Let us know the ages of your children when booking so we can adjust the pace and timing of Day 2 accordingly.
How do I book this package and confirm my reservation?
You can book using the form on this page, or reach us directly on WhatsApp at +255 774 077 465 or by email at info@bluegreenzanzibartours.com. WhatsApp is the fastest — we typically confirm within a few hours. We’ll ask for your arrival date, flight details, hotel name, number of guests, and any customizations.
Your Zanzibar Adventure Starts Here
The Zanzibar 3 Days 2 Nights Package packs more genuine experience into a short break than most destinations manage in a week.

Key things to remember:
- All tours, transfers, entrance fees, and lunch are included — no surprises
- The best weather window is June–October; book 4–6 weeks ahead in peak season
- The package is fully customizable — add beach days, dolphin swimming, or a mainland safari
- Blue Green Zanzibar Tours is 5-star rated on TripAdvisor and available on WhatsApp throughout your trip

Our guide, Nassor, picked us up directly at the ferry terminal and stayed with us from start to finish. He shared many interesting stories and demonstrated great knowledge throughout the entire tour. We first took a boat to Prison Island (the turtle island), then visited the sandbank, where a wonderful seafood lunch was prepared for us. After that, we returned to the city for the historical tour. The team also helped us with purchasing the ferry tickets, which was extremely helpful and made everything much easier. Thank you so much taking back amazing memories, the guide, the captain and the crew members were all friendly polite and the must fun. And the lunch oh my god it was scrumptious.. Thank you once again! Posted on Tripadvisor DTDOctober 28, 2025Verified Outstanding experience with Blue Green Safari Zanzibar! We had an amazing experience with Blue Green Safari. From start to finish, the team was highly professional, punctual, and incredibly accommodating. We were traveling with two toddlers, and they went out of their way to make everything smooth and comfortable for us — adjusting plans when needed and always being patient and kind. What really stood out was their genuine care and flexibility. They didn’t just treat us like clients; they truly cared about our experience. They even helped us arrange donations for a local school and village, which meant a lot to us and made the trip feel even more meaningful. If you’re planning any tours or excursions in Zanzibar, I can’t recommend Blue Green Safari enough. They’re reliable, thoughtful, and go above and beyond to ensure you have a memorable and stress-free experience.Posted on Tripadvisor Ellie Theaker PriceOctober 16, 2025Verified Dolphin, snorkelling and Mnemba island tour Amazing experience! 100% recommend this company and the dolphin/snorkelling trip.
