Why This Combo

Most travelers booking these tours separately end up doubling their transfer costs and losing entire days on Zanzibar’s coastal roads.

Because Mnemba, Baraka Aquarium and the dhow launch point all sit on Zanzibar’s north coast within a 30 km arc, we route them as a single continuous day — saving you ~$40 in transfers and at least one full vacation day.

  • Geographically tight. All three sites cluster on the north coast — no cross-island backtracking.
  • Perfect timing. Snorkel when reef visibility is best, see turtles at feeding time, board the dhow exactly at golden hour.
  • Better value. Combo pricing saves you up to $35 per person vs booking each tour individually.
  • Balanced energy curve. Active morning → gentle midday → restful evening — never exhausting.
  • One guide. One transfer. One trusted operator. Zero handoff stress, full conservation focus.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything our travelers ask before booking this combo.

Is this combo tour suitable for non-swimmers and kids?

Yes. The Mnemba snorkel sites are shallow with calm water, life jackets are provided, and the turtle lagoon at Baraka Aquarium is wadeable — perfect for non-swimmers. The dhow cruise is calm seated sailing. Kids age 4+ enjoy this combo regularly.

How long does the full combo take?

Plan for approximately 10–11 hours door-to-door, with pickup around 7:30 AM and drop-off around 7:00 PM. Exact times shift slightly with sunset and tide.

Can the combo be customized — for example, swap one stop?

Yes. We can replace the dhow with a Nungwi beach session, or swap the turtles for a Mnemba dolphin search. WhatsApp us and we'll tailor the itinerary.

What if I'm staying in Stone Town, not the north coast?

No problem. We pick up from any hotel on Zanzibar Island — including Stone Town, Paje, Jambiani, Kiwengwa, Pongwe, Matemwe, Kendwa and Nungwi. The transfer cost adjusts to your hotel's distance.

What happens if weather is bad on the booked day?

Safety is our priority. If sea conditions make snorkeling or sailing unsafe, we reschedule for the next available day at no extra cost, or offer a full refund. Light rain is not usually a reason to cancel.

Will I definitely see dolphins at Mnemba?

Dolphin sightings are common but never guaranteed — these are wild animals in their natural habitat. We follow a strict no-chase, no-harass policy. Probability is highest from June to October and early morning.

Are the turtles at Baraka Aquarium captive?

No. They're rescued from local fishing nets and kept in a natural tidal lagoon connected to the ocean. Your entry fee directly funds the rescue programme.

Is the price truly all-in?

The combo price covers guide fees, boats, snorkel gear, entry fees, light food & drinks, and all government taxes. Hotel transfers and Nungwi lunch are priced separately so you only pay for what fits your hotel and appetite — no fixed-cost bundling.

How do I pay and what's your cancellation policy?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, bank transfer, M-Pesa and cash (USD, TZS, EUR). Cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before the tour. Within 48 hours, a 50% fee applies. No-shows are non-refundable.

Is it ethical to swim with these turtles and snorkel at Mnemba?

Yes. Mnemba is a protected marine conservation area where fishing and anchoring are restricted, and Baraka Aquarium is a community-run rescue centre. We follow no-touch policies on reefs and use reef-safe sunscreen.
