Covering a total area of about 54,600 km2 (21,081 sq. miles), almost 6% of Tanzania’s land surface, is amongst the largest protected wet wilderness areas in Africa, “SELOUS GAME RESERVE” located in the South of Tanzania and four times the size of Serengeti. The Selous game reserve is the size of Switzerland.

Day Trip Fly-in Safari to Selous Game Reserve from Zanzibar!

Start your day trip to Selous game reserve with a morning departure from Zanzibar with a flight at 07:00 am arriving in Selous game reserve at 08:00 am, upon arrival at Mtemere Airstrip, you will be met by a Driver Guide and proceed with packed Lunch for full day game drive. Your day will be filled with exploring the park’s wildlife from your seat on an open-sided or open-roofed vehicle.

This comfortable and privileged journey through the wild African bush is a chance of a lifetime! You can expect to see many of African mammals, including elephants, giraffes, lions, buffalo, zebras, and African wild dogs. Then proceed with your journey exploring the African bushes before returning to the airstrip at around 16h00 for your arranged flight back to Zanzibar.

I booked a Stone Town Walking Tour combined with Spice Tour and Prison Island but then on the spot I changed my mind and requested a Jozani Forest Tour instead. “Though it is a late review, it is the one I just had to write as the experience was awesome. I visited sand bank then swimming with dolphins with Wadi from Blue - Green Zanzibar Tours and Safari. Zanzibar in itself is a beauty, sand banks are the most amazing thing one should definitely see while in Zanzibar. “A must visit place, has so much to do. Enjoy the serene beaches, which are definitely less crowded. Water sports activities are enjoyable, and varied. Visit to Prison Island, Stone Town City and Maruhubi Ruins, are a must see. Our private driver is Mr. Chum. He was very nice, reliable and patient, with really good knowledge on Zanzibar. In additions, he knew the roads so well so he could avoid the traffic jam. He actually accompanied us every place we visited, explained us all about the place and everything. Always went beyond the call of duty. It's a very well managed agency Shopping for local farms, particularly in Darajani Market, is highly recommended. Comparatively a less heavy on pocket.
